I just discovered Bridget Beth Collins' mesmerizing floral artwork. Every single piece is magical and beautiful. Beth uses foliage and flowers plucked from the nearby woods, sidewalks,
and meadows from their neighborhood. She sells her intricate and detailed floral creations as prints (shop them here). I love the idea of having nature's beauty immortalized in such a pretty and special way. You need to take a look at some of her work, I guaranty you will want to purchase a few of these for yourself or the little ones in your life-
The Oscars are this weekend...Yeah! what are you wearing? I'm always excited to see the red carpet (it's the only part I am actually awake for!) Now that my daughter is older and has strong opinions on fashion we have so much fun commenting on the all the ensembles. I have to admit, I have no idea who is nominated this year or anything....so it will all be a fun surprise. Are you going to any fun Oscar watching parties? A few links to keep you entertained till Sunday-
[ acrylic bench | hat | blush heels | clutches | party animal prints (zebra, elephant) | top | coffee table ]
Totally loving these colorful clutches my friend Cristina introduced me to. They are only $68 and selling fast because they are the perfect combination of fun, chic and affordable! Also, totally coveting the blush heels I could see myself wearing them all summer. And I love the simple and classic straw hat (only $44!). Too bad I'm not going anywhere where warm anytime soon.
To me libraries are the soul of a home. We spend so much time in ours....reading, hanging out by the fire, napping, and most importantly, it seems like all major conversations happen in this room for us like major life decisions, plans for the future.....So I have a soft spot for libraries and in my heart I wish every room in our home could be a pseudo-library (nothing beats a dining room/library!!) But this would require A LOT of books. I'm sure my husband would be up for the task if we had built-ins everywhere he could find a way of filling them. Let's just say we recieve Amazon packages almost daily! You can see a peek into our library here. I love the grey lacquered bookshelves and so this library by Caitlin Wilson drew me in and just loved the rest of the house that goes with it! Her use of bold wallpaper is fabulous and plentiful, gotta love that! Take a look at the rest of this beauty-
Pillows are an easy and inexpensive way to freshen up, update or modernize a room. Pillows can add that unexpected pop of color, add character and they can even set the mood of a room. I'm sharing with you my eight favorite go-to spots for beautiful, custom pillows (you are welcome!)
Trying to find novel gift ideas for loved ones is not an easy thing. So lately, I have been into sending chocolates (these are my fave), ice cream (I sent my dad this for Valentine's day) and now I can send them cakes in a jar!! If you don't already know Jars by Dani, they are the most delicious and decadent cakes ever. For my mom's last birthday we all went to NYC to celebrate and I special ordered her a set of different flavors of these jar cakes to try. I had a special sticker customized just for her for the cap of each jar which made the gift even more special. Back then NYC delivery was the only option.....but no longer!!! Now Jars by Dani ships everywhere in the US! How fun would it be to get a little trio like this in the mail?
[ pink mongolian wool jacket | floral d'orsay flat | placemat (set of four) and napkin (set of 4) | evil eye sweatshirt | print | gold and white flatware | acrylic magazine rack]
I'm still not over the fuzz trend....faux or real- this pretty pink mongolian wool number is an instant classic. Use it to go to the opera over a gown, for date night with jeans or out for a cocktail party. These d'orsay flats are so feminine and striking. My dear friend has them and I'm kind of #obsessed with them and they have a nice price tag. I can see myself wearing the evil eye sweatshirt for every trip....it's cozy, comfortable and protects you with good vibes only. Easter is coming! Are you ready to host?
I thought these pretty placemats and matching napkins would be ideal for the occassion. Get them early and have your initials monogrammed! This bright pink print would be a welcome addition to a gallery wall. I am always in the lookout for great silverware. Wouldn't these be perfect for all that Spring and Summer Patio entertaining? This gorgeous acrylic magazine rack- SWOON!
I am really enjoying seeing that Buffalo Checks ( a pattern with contrasting 2 or 3 color blocks) are starting to trend in a "non-country" kind of a setting. It is now looking preppier and even sophisticated. The pattern is lively, cozy and brave. I think if used correctly it can even look modern and refined.
[butterfly print | vintage pendant | pink bench | Scalamandre pillow | sunglasses | book | black obelisk | dress | fringe bag ]
The intricate detail and whimsical design of this Dawn Wolfe butterfly print is a magical additional for any space. This fabulous petal pendant by Kalmar from thr 60's makes a delicate statement. This pink and gold bench by Moss Studio has a fun and chic design to make any space more feminine and fun. Two of these pillows would be my IDEAL Valentine's day present. I love the fabric, color and shape. I have been dreaming about them for a few years now. Some.Day. #WishfulThinking.
[1. Popcorn | 2. Chocolate Covered Spoons | 3. Treat Bags ]
One of the fun parts of any holiday is the anticipation. There are so many fun things you can do, make, bake....before Valentine's to indulge in the moment and make it even more special. Make a pretty pink and red bowl of popcorn on your next movie night. Instead of a formal dessert make these easy chocolate covered spoons and these adorable treat bags by the fabulous Brynn of Dandy and Fine Party are perfect to make with your little ones.
Gold, gold gold. It's been a few years since my obsession began and I still can't get enough of it. My current desk does have a brass sculptural piece to it which I really love and after seeing Marlien Rentmeester's desk, of the blog Le Catch, in her newly renovated office I was inspired to round-up my favorite desks with gold legs. Obviously Marlien's desk, pictured above, is dynamite but here are a few other options as well-
