You all know I love discovering new artists. Well I have been in love with Paige Gemmel's colorful and chic original and prints for a few years. She combines Chinoiserie and Palm Beach Chic in the most perfect way. This piece above that she made for Paige Minear's One Room Challenge is fabulous. She sells her work through her etsy store Pink Lion Dog where she has amazing prints, but the originals are my favorite (below)-
It's reveal day for The One Room Challenge!! Oh you know, just one of the funnest days in blogland if you like interior design. If you don't know about I'm talking about, here is the rundown- Linda from Calling it Home began this challenge some years ago where she invites 20 interior design bloggers to transform a room in 6 weeks and report about their progress every Wednesday and today is the 6th week in this season, aka reveal day. I have participated in the One Room Challenge a few times (as an invited participant for the family room and my closet, and as a linker for my daughter's room and the mudroom ). This time around I'm beyond excited because Christine Dovey, one of my all time favorite interior designers used one of my prints from my 'Everyday Faces' series for her project!! She used it in her playroom and I can't wait to show you what it looks like. Take a look-
Ever since I started seeing Gina Julian's Op Art pieces in her Instagram feed I have been quite obsessed with them. And as I was planning to write a post on her and her new series, I saw she is releasing new pieces for sale today! The sale starts at 11 am (EST), so be ready! Playing with such vibrant color combinations and fun optical illusions these paintings are dynamite. Gina says about her series that it expresses her love of precision and exactness. I think they are exactly cool and that one may need to come home with me. I really do love geometry in art especially if it gives me a playful sense of another dimension. I bet you want to see more!-
I really enjoy when new companies make your life easier. I remember a few years ago I undertook a fun but time-consuming project. I wanted to line one of our hallways in the bedroom area with framed family photographs. This entailed printing the photos at a local store, picking them up when they were ready and then going to the framer's to have each one framed. A few short years later and this process seems long, absurd and obsolete. These two photographs were printed and framed by Livestock Framing. This was my first time trying them and I loved the experience. You upload any photo, choose the size and frame and you are done! The quality of the printing and framing is really great. Here are the two photos I printed. You will enjoy hearing about each photo as well-
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm has new paintings for sale! This is hot off the press so visit her website asap before they are all gone. She has ten new pieces for us to see. I have two pieces of hers which I adore and everyone inquires about when they come to my home- I have this striped ribbon I shared with you on Instagram and the lips in my daughter's room (photographed below). Angela's art is original and just pops off the wall. She is intrigued with fabrics and folds. Angela is a Georgia artist inspired by the clothes we wear or dream of wearing,
the routines and patterns of life, and the idea of color as antidote.
She has a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Houston. Below is some of her work. Prepare to lust after everything-
The latest accessory in my home, this beautiful gold coin, is more than just any accessory. This gold coin is helping to raise money and awareness for an amazing cause- sex trafficking, a topic that scares the living daylights out of me. This project called In You We Trust, is a collaboration between my good friend and artist Marian Lefeld and Jen Rose in an effort to bring awareness to the epidemic of sex trafficking of children in the United States. It happens here too, not just in far off countries believe it or not.
