So happy it's Thursday again as I get to fill you in on the progress I have made in my daughter's room for the One Room Challenge Guest Participants. The One Room Challenge was started by Linda from Calling it Home some years ago where she lines up twenty very talented professional bloggers and designers to redo a room in just six weeks. They share their progress every Wednesday (see my past projects here and here). And the Guest Participants (anyone can join!) report their progress on Thursdays. If you are just tuning in for the first time you can see week 1. In this week 2 I have been hard at work! Let me show you!
Yeay! The One Room Challenge is here! I'm thrilled to be participating in the One Room Challenge Linking Participants!! The One Room Challenge was started by Linda from Calling it Home
some years ago where she lines up twenty very talented professional

their progress every Wednesday. And the Linking Participants (anyone

Thursday we begin!
Before we start I want to give you a little bit of a background. I have participated in this challenge twice as an invited blogger where I did my family room and my walk-in closet. I have also participated once as a linker where I re-did my little mudroom. I'm no stranger to this challenge and know very well that six weeks comes and goes in a second and you keep your fingers crossed and hope that everything you ordered will get here on time. Let's see what the future has in store. I will be working on my daughter's room. Let me show you some photos.
The One Room Challenge starts this week!! WOW!! You all know how much fun I have doing these challenges- not only do they force me to concentrate on and finish a room of my house, but they also offer such a great source of inspiration. The One Challenge participants have different styles, needs and budget so you see a wide array of fabulous finished rooms. It is so much fun to see the rooms evolve over six weeks. For those of you who don't know about the One Room Challenge (ORC for short) it is an interior design challenge created by Linda from Calling it Home. Interior designers, and blogger design enthusiasts make over a room in 6 short weeks and they report their progress on Wednesdays. The Wednesday participants are a set group of 20 bloggers chosen by Linda and the Thursday group are called "linkers". They can link-in, follow along and re-do a room as well. I will be a linker this time around doing my daughter's room. I want to show you my past projects and some of my favorites from other bloggers. The first one, photo above, is my walk-in closet. You can see more of it here. Be ready for a visual feast-
The One Room Challenge (ORC) reveals occurred last week and they were exciting! You all know I'm a huge fan of the ORC (If you remember I participated here and here and here as a linker). And I was thrilled to go through them and enjoy everyone's proud work this time around. I wanted to share with you some of my favorites.
The One Room Challenge was created by Linda from Calling it Home where twenty very talented professional bloggers and designers redo a room in just six weeks and they update everyone once a week. If you have never followed along you need to do so in the Spring. It is so much fun. Linda has grown this challenge to be a highly anticipated time of the year for both viewers and participants. Because everyone, and I mean everyone, who has a design blog wants to be invited to participate. The results are stellar and so varied. I love how you can beautiful ideas on living rooms, bathrooms, closets.....in all kinds of styles. And also, I think reading about how designers make their decisions is also really fun.
Ok, so let's start off with Cassie's show-stopper of a living room! The bold colors and fabrics, the artwork! Sensational, just like she is. See the entire room here.
Last week was the famous 'Reveal' week for the One Room Challenge so it was an exciting week in blogland. You may remember I was part of this challenge here and here and I was a linker this time around. Linda, who started it all has grown this challenge and it just keeps getting better and better. There were some great transformations and I wanted to share with you my favorites. These projects are also great ways to find new sources for furniture, accents, art.....plus you learn so much by way of tips and DIYs. First up- this fabulous black and white bathroom by Vanessa Francis. I just love the sconces from School House Electric and that wallpaper. Of course the black faucet is pretty cool too. To see more photos of this fab bathroom and read all the details visit Vanessa Francis here. Next up this cute girl's room by 6th Street Design School.
Finally!!!! Reveal day is here!! It's exciting because I have something to show you but I had to make last minute adjustments because a few things did not come in on time. For those of you who are new I am participating in the One Room Challenge Linking Participants where I am decorating my little mudroom. You can see the before photos of the space here. It's small but I wanted to make it a very chic and simple space.

If you are just tuning in for the first time you can see week 1, week 2, week 3,
week 4. I'm actually a bit on panic mode this week because we only have one week left for the reveal and I'm not sure I will be able to finish! Let's blame it on the millions of things I'm juggling at the same time, plus the amount of rain we have had which has delayed my spray painting and ....You see that super cool mirror, the box and those animal prints above? Those will arrive AFTER the ORC reveal next week!! Uhm....not what I had planned. And thus I'm feeling a bit like this-

I have a big fundraiser I'm organizing tomorrow and that has eaten up my time in the last few weeks. But I will share with you a couple of things.... It was a good mail day yesterday!! I got this beauty all the way from France! She is a warrior alright. I'm in love-

To recap, my mudroom is actually tiny. It's more an entrance hall than anything else and it has 4 doors (one to the family room/kitchen area, one to a bathroom, one to the garage, and one to the laundry room) so I don't have much wall space to work with. Here is what I need: a table to house a tray for keys and a large box to keep receipts and other unsightly things, a bench to remove or put on shoes, a storage bin for shoes, and hooks for coats and bags. It's dark in there so I will need to lighten up the space a bit. I'm thinking a mirror or two would do the trick.
So, if I could merge all these images into one idea I would! I will tell you what I like about each one. From the photo above I love the waterfall table and the sconces. from the photo below-

Just a quick little note to tell you all that I am working very hard for tomorrow's One Room Challenge reveal. Please check back tomorrow. I'm really excited about this one. xx

The gold trim is up and so are the shades (if you follow me on Instagram the shades are gray not green! I think the color came across wrong in that photo). Anyway, my closet is looking fabulous! If you are new and don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional
bloggers to redo a room in their home in just six weeks- we update you once a week on
Wednesdays. And today is Wednesday! (in case you missed them here are this round's previous posts- one, two, and three).
To
refresh your memory I am doing my walk-in closet that has lilac walls. Today I will be sharing with you all the wonderful works of art I will proudly display here. I'm so excited about every single piece. Let's start with this beautiful nude by Reagan Geschardt. Isn't she perfect? I can't wait to meet her. She arrives tomorrow!
Lilac it is my friends!! And boy am I loving it! If you are new and don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional

To refresh your memory I am doing my walk-in closet. At first, my plan included pink walls, then I wanted gray and finally decided on lilac. LOVE, LOVE, ADORE....But it was hard to chose the perfect lilac...
I felt like last week went by quicker than usual....hmmm. I want to give you all an update on my closet which is what I'm working on for this One Room Challenge. If you are new and don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home

where I introduce my plans and some design inspiration.
At first, I wanted my closet to be pink. I love Quadrille's fabrics and so went there directly to see what inspired me. I pulled several beautiful fabrics in pink tones but this Malmaison one seemed exactly right. It has a little pink, a little leopard and it is romantic and feminine- ideal for a walk-in closet. I immediately thought I could splurge on some Farrow and Ball paint. Their colors just have those deep pigments and they have the perfect pink to boot. But when I went to place the fabric order they told me it would take 6 weeks to get it. Six weeks??!! This is the One Room Challenge! I don't have time for 6 weeks! There was nothing I could do, so I asked about the other pretty pink Quadrille fabrics I had pulled. ALL were made-to-order and thus took 6 weeks as well. I even tried finding about Amanda Nisbet's Positano...and of course it is also made-to-order. Oops....I needed to forget about fancy fabric and find something that was available so I went back to the drawing board.

I'm so excited because today marks the first day of October and of the Fall One Room Challenge. The One Room Challenge was started by Linda from Calling it Home
some years ago where she lines up twenty very talented professional
bloggers and designers to redo a room in just six weeks.
We will update you every Wednesday for the next six weeks on our progress. This is my second time participating (you can see my first One Room Challenge here) and I'm just
thrilled and honored to be among such talented ladies. So let me tell
you about the room I chose to design-
I am overwhelmed with your support and excitement over yesterday's reveal. Thank you all for your encouragement and excitement. it is contagious to say the least. I absolutely adored all of yesterday's reveals and there are even more today with Linda's Linking Party. Check it out here. I'm exhausted! The good kind of exhausted of course. I really feel like laying out by the beach or pool (or any type of body of water will do) and just rest. But I did want to share this cute peplum top (don't you love the back?) and it's on sale! Plus, who doesn't need another white shirt?
Today is One Room Challenge Reveal! Finally! Such high expectations all around- so I hope the photos don't disappoint you. I need to tell you, as a disclaimer, how difficult it was to take the photos. With the large windows and so many reflective surfaces it was a nightmare. I hope they convey the real beauty of the room.
