Rue Mag Launch at Wisteria in Dallas
August 09, 2012
We were so lucky to attend Rue's Texas launch party at Wisteria last night. What a fun and well-planned event. The fact that the soiree had all of Wisteria's beautiful furniture as a backdrop only made the evening even more exciting. (I mean do you see that blue chair in the background? I die! I could not find it online otherwise I would have linked. Of course.)
So this beautiful vignette above greeted us as we came in.
The more we made our way inside the giddier we became. It was like being in a candy store with so many beautiful pieces.
Bugs as art....I can see that trend taking...hmmmmm
some patriotism is always good.
The best art of the evening you ask? To see these critters in person. I have been eying them in the catalog since I could remember. They are actually larger than what I expected. What a perfect gift for that special child.
Stools! How clever!
I was becoming obsessed with these vintage Chinese hats.
obsessed I tell ya.
see?!
The adult beverage of the evening was Deep Eddy. Cool concept- sweet tea with vodka.
The yummy southern elixir was served in the cute Ball jars with the famous stripey straws.
Here is a sweet girl from Twine Interiors we met with the cutest clutch. I had to ask (I was thinking of you, of course- it's from Purse and Clutch. They partner with reputable organizations who employ artisans from developing
economies to create reliable, dignified, living wage jobs for those in
need. Cute and philanthropic? Sign me up.
And whose cute feet are these with the perfect pedies and chicest shoes?
The real live blogger sisters from A Piece of Toast who are even sweeter than they are beautiful. Such a treat to see friends.
We also met some interesting people like Elizabeth Mollen from Stone Textiles Studio. She participated in Rue Magazine's latest Texas issue covering fabulous stores in Austin. She was so sweet and boy was I happy looking through her website and discovering her beautiful fabric designs. I love going to events like this one and meeting all kinds of talented people.
Rue Magazine really did a great job with this latest Texas issue. Do I think this because I have been living in Texas for the last 6 years? Perhaps. It may very well be my Texas pride. I did get to meet Crystal Gentilello, Rue's Editor in Chief which was also a highlight. Congratulations to Rue and Wisteria for putting together such a wonderful event.

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question on my blog post from last week, I've lived in Portland for a little over 5 years now and I couldn't be happier! It is the greatest city (restaurants, shopping, museums, public events, and lots of character) and tons of outdoor activities close by (hiking, skiing, beaching, rafting, biking, fishing etc). Summers are amazing here! What neighborhood does your cousin live in, do you know?
wow, what a fun event! It looks like such a great time, and the store is so chock full! LOVE it.
