Clothing Scoop || Best (Warm) Coat Ever - Moncler
January 17, 2013
Are you in love yet? I cannot express my desire for one of these super warm, chic, and cozy coats. Its rare when a coat can get you this excited. Usually this kind of fascination is just reserved for handbags, shoes, and maybe even some dresses (oh and of course a Lindsey Adelman chandelier). Moncler is the brand behind these beauties.
They are an investment without a doubt. But, once you have one of these it will be passed on the next generation. Promise. The quality is outstanding, and well, the design speaks for itself. I bought mine in 2001 when I was living in NY, which was having a particularly cold winter. I needed to step up my winter gear. The cute little red pea coat just wasn't cutting it anymore so I got the mother of all down coats - a goldenish puffer coat. Boy was I happy camper after that. I will let you know this, back then Moncler was not high-end, not until 2003 when it was acquired by an Italian entrepreneur who also became its creative director. He revamped the brand into a high-end, top design coat and clothing line company. So, you could say mine is the poor distant cousin, a Moncler no-less.
The first coat is my favorite. But really, I would be happy with any of them. See their entire collection here. Thoughts? Likes? dislikes?

What beautiful designs! Wow, they really elevate the puffer look to luxe status for sure. I love these, especially the ones with fur collars! Italians really nail design. Have a great day albertina.

The second jacket has to be mine!! Has to be mine!!
ReplyDeleteI love the ones with the fur colar! Brings a bit of feminine to a sporty coat. Very cute! With the temps we have been having latley I might need one.
ReplyDeleteYes, most definitely just love that last jacket! A Montcler is on my list for one day:)
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the last one! Perfect for the city and going out to dinner :)
ReplyDeleteDamn lady, those first two coats have me wishing for my NY winters! And if you know me at all, you would know that I hate nothing more than winters hence my move to Miami. Anyways, those are some fabulously stylish coats. I'd rock em in a heartbeat - if only a cold front would move in sometime soon. lol.
ReplyDeleteWe've been wincing at the 30 degree temps here in LA recently, but Santa Ana winds blew in and we're looking at 80 degrees on Saturday. I think the cold snap this season might just be over. Too bad... I would have loved to have worn one of those beautiful coats- the last two are my fave!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely like! I think I will be making a coat purchase soon, so these are super inspiring. You got taste, that's for sure. xo

ReplyDeleteI would love a Moncler coat...but I couldn't justify the cost when it's only cold a total of 20 days out of the year. Maybe if I lived in Aspen! xo
ReplyDeleteALL of these coats are amazing - it's so cold in Dallas right now. Totally need to invest in a new one!

I just checked the link. These coats are tremendously awesome, I'm sad I didn't know about them sooner.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I had never heard of this brand before, so thanks for the introduction! Who would have thought that puffer jackets could be so stylish? That first one is fabulous, with that color at the bottom, and I love that last one; it reminds me of a sleek motorcycle jacket, but taken up several (warm) notches. I'm in love!
