Sleek, Dark, and Moody Kitchens
February 13, 2013
Lately I can't stop thinking of kitchens that incorporate some black in them, like in the image above - spectacular. In a previous kitchen post I stated that I thought kitchens were getting sleeker and more glamorous....some people are adding fun dramatic pendants to their islands, some are adding mirrors....and quite a few people are adding black to achieve this look. And I have to say, I'm liking the results.
So, these are my sleek, dark and moody inspirational images for you. How nice would it be to bake some valentine's day treats in any of these? Or are you team all-white ?

I typically don't like a black and white kitchen but after seeing the first interior I have thoroughly changed my mind! It is so sophisticated - I love those white stools too:)
ReplyDeleteIt's the light that makes the dark work. I love all of these kitchens, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the third one - I can just imagine a few red velvet cupcakes looking very pretty in there. As for mine - it's all cream!

Adore those shades- so chic.
ReplyDeleteWow I never realized how into dark kitchens I am until this post. I just love those black cabinets and marble island!
ReplyDeleteI know it's not everyone's cup of tea. But sleek and moody is the stuff my kitchen dreams are made of. Someday I hope to incorporate a marble waterfall island into our own kitchen... but I might have to dream on that one a little longer.
ReplyDeleteLove these... I'm all about dark + moody as long as it's still sleek + clean! Bailey's kitchen (Peppermint Bliss) has me convinced that my someday kitchen will be dark!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!

I love the idea of going with a sleek, sexier approach! That first one left me breathless!
ReplyDeleteI love all the marble....it's very dark and sexy, but I like that!

I used to dream of having a home just like this. Thanks for bringing that back up! sigh.... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love this look in a kitchen but I'd fear that it wouldn't be warm and inviting enough! It's indeed sexy though. Maybe one day I'll have two kitchens and can do both the warm look and the dark look too? :)
ReplyDeleteIsn’t That Charming.
Not that I watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or anything, but I noticed Lisa's new kitchen has more black in it. She previously had all white and marble. I thought that was interesting. Maybe that is where we are headed. My entire house is white so while it's not necessarily something I would do I def see the appeal.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, those slabs of marble on the wall are AMAZING!

ReplyDeleteI love a dark kitchen with big windows to let the light in!!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the sleek, dark & moody vibe!!! If any of those were my kitchen, I would feel like I was cooking in a fancy restaurant…hmm, actually, it’s so fancy cakes that I may just have to hire a chef ;) XO Brynn
ReplyDeleteI'm usually a member of team white, but that third photo makes me want to venture to the dark side!
