Spring Break Photos
March 17, 2014
We had such a great time. It was so beautiful and restful and so nice to get away. Can you believe I didn't even bring my lap-top? I was truly disconnected except for the occasional Instagram shot. My husband had a terrible deadline due a few days before we left so he was in an urgent need of some rest and relaxation. The break was ideal. We saw whales, dolphins and many blue footed booby birds. Mix these fun sightings with the perfect sunny weather, many margaritas and those people you love most and you have the perfect getaway.
I'm going to start with my pom-pom hat. I got a lot of questions about it when I posted it on Instagram. It is a fun, cheap and easy DIY. See the full post here.
Next topic of conversation- The Goldfinch. Who has read it? I know many of you have or are in the middle of it. I could right a whole post about it but don't want to give it any of it away. I think it is beautifully written and the start was fabulous but I was let down toward the end. Hmmmm.
Meals and drinks by the pool....aahhhh. And then more Margarita's at dinner. 'm paying for it now trying to lose all the vacation weight gain.
I adore Mexican architecture and design. There were such lovely pieces all around.
I loved getting to finally wear my new Sail to Sable tunic. it has fast become one of my all-time favorites. I wish a I had a link for my earrings but I got them a year ago in New York in a little shop on Lexington not too far far from Bloomingdales.
I grew up very close to the sea, going to the beach on weekends and have always lived in cities by the water and miss it terribly since we have been here in Dallas. The sea is something I crave constantly so being reunited is a special treat. It is very strange that my daughter's upbringing is proving so different than mine or my husband's in this regard.
If
you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and
don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the
endless immensity of the sea.

Witnessing sunsets is one of the highlights of being alive in my opinion.
And here are some photos of Monterrey. It is surrounded by such beautiful mountains.
Back to regular programming this week. Happy Monday!
