On My Mind || Non-Traditional Holiday Decor
December 05, 2014
When it comes to decorating for the Holidays I'm pretty traditional. We love putting up a real tree with our decades old ornaments, which we love seeing after having missed them for a full year. We have little Santas and snowmen around the house and some classic wreaths too. We keep the same decorations year-in and year-out and maybe add a few things each season. So, our holiday decor is pretty predictable. I do venture out a little bit with my Christmas Eve dinner tablescape and try and change it up every year. But I was wondering....what if I ventured and tried a more streamlined, more modern, non-traditional Christmas look? I think it would be fabulous!
The disco gnome is brilliant! Literally! He would make a fun addition to a mantel for sure and keep stockings in good company. I bet the elf on the shelf would even enjoy having such a jolly fellow around. The Kelly Wearstler china is breathtaking. High drama, right? I can just an envision a whole table setting in pure gold and white china heaven and then adding in those fabulous black napkins. W.O.W. Add a few edgy ornaments to the tree and it becomes a way cooler Christmas, yes?
What type of a holiday decorator are you? Traditional? Modern? Do you cherish your Holiday decor and use it year after year? or do you change things up constantly? Please share!
