Outdoor Entertaining with Pier 1

A few weeks ago I showed you how I used outdoor decor from Pier 1 Imports to freshen up our outdoor space so it would be a more inviting place for guests. I have partnered once again with Pier 1 Imports to share with you a glimpse of our first alfresco lunch of the season where we showcased our pretty patio. In keeping with our decor theme of Mediterrean Blue's I also planned the menu around this theme- Tabbouleh salad (so fresh and summery!), roasted butternut squash caprese salad (just add roasted butternut squash to your typical caprese salad. Oh and I used smoked mozzarella and it was fabulous), hummus dips with bread and some refreshing Sangria to drink (recipe included below!).
I'm so happy with my tabletop Pier 1 Imports items I counted on for this simple and light ladies lunch! To remind you I used these melamine plates and platter, these acrylic glasses, these blue glasses, these placemats (I added the pompoms, see this post) and the lotus bowls which I have had for over ten years! They are my favorite. I even combine them with my fine china to serve soups at more formal parties and they look so beautiful!
To make the chairs cuter and more comfortable I added the Greek Key pillows and the blue ombre pillows.
So in love with my garden stool. Ok, on to the Sangria recipe.
Sangria
Ingredients
2 apples
4 slices of pineapple
2 peaches
2 lemons
a bunch of mint leaves
1 (750-ml) bottle red wine
1 can of ginger-ale or sprite
Instructions
Cut up the apples, pineapple and peaches into small pieces. Leave the peels on for the apple and peaches. Transfer the fruit to the pitcher. Juice the lemons and add the juice to the pitcher. Add the wine to the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. When ready to serve, top off the sangria with the ginger-ale or sprite. You can always add more if desired. Also, add mint leaves before serving. Make sure you add fruit to each glass while you serve. ENJOY!!

I love this tablescape! As of late, I've been completely inspired by outdoor patios and learning the best ways to take advantage of my backyard as a means of entertainment. I adore those melamine plates.
