Kitchens || Mirror Tiles

January 08, 2013

One of the design trends I'm noting and absolutely loving is the move from regular looking kitchen's to GLAM ones....and by this I mean kitchens that may not at first view look like a kitchen.  They are sleeker, shinier, and yes more glamorous. And what screens 'glamour' ....why mirrors of course!!....and even though I have seen mirrors in kitchens pop up in years past I think there is renewed interest.  Mirrored tiles my friends- this is today's take away. Love it, dig it, need it!

Aside from all the glamour mirrors can bring to a kitchen, they can make a small space look larger, and it can help increase the light....Its a win/win you see?

what do you think? yes, pelase? or pass?

  5. Absolutely YES. I have a mirror the length of one of my counters now and I LOVE the look. I am mirror obsessed anyway since it makes my house look like it has so many more windows and space! Great post Albertina!

    1. I absolutely love this look. Yes yes it is so bright and modern. I have a white on white kitchen that I think this would really look great. Heck I would love it on an accent wall. :-) Thanks

  8. I'm not sure if I'm ballsy enough to do it in a large kitchen but for a small apartment kitchen...yes!

  9. Bold. I like. But I'm not sure how practical it would be in a well used kitchen. The repeated clean up factor may be a nightmare

  10. Bold. I likes. But I'd worry about the not so joyous task of having to clean them mirrors all the time in a well used kitchen.

  13. Yeah, loving this too. So clean and modern looking. I might shy away from use behind a sink, but would definitely consider using in lieu of ceramic subway tile. We live in our kitchen. I'm all for bringing glam to what is no longer just a utility area of the home. Why not?

  20. I like the subway tile but the rest are little too bright for me. Plus I'm not sure I want to see myself everywhere while I am cooking, ha!

  22. So I think everyone else likes it but I think it is nice in the metallic penny tiles and the secret cupboard backsplash, but would pass on the others. Mostly because I think it will date really quickly and who really wants to have to re-tile in a couple of years. I'm all for sleek and glamour though. :)

  25. Yes, love the mirror backsplash, especially with other mirror accents. It opens and brightens the room with such charm. It's both elegant and modern; a combination that is hard to beat!
