Pier 1 || Girls Night In

May 23, 2016

A great way to break up the week is to invite some girlfriends over for dessert, rose wine and fun conversation on a school night.  Add a beautifully set table and you have the ingredients for a perfect evening. A few weeks ago I showed you how I spruced up our outdoor space with fabulous Pier 1 pieces, well now I'm sharing this space with friends to celebrate Spring!

Here is my favorite Pier1 piece of all-time, the trusty and chic elephant garden stool. Perfect to hold a tray full of refreshments- fresh lemonade and San Pellegrino are my favorites!  I added some of the leafy placemats to an acrylic tray for an instant upgrade. Now everything in the tray looks so lush and provocative!

This blue papasan chair is the cutest and most comfortable piece of outdoor furniture.  It is like a big hug when you sit back and relax in it.  It is that comfortable!

Al fresco dining during this time of year is priceless. The mosquitoes are not yet out so we can really enjoy our yard.  You know how I love to set a pretty table, and when you have  Pier 1 tabletop choices it is so easy to come up with something vibrant and fun. I loved combining the floral plates with the larger yellow melamine plates. But I think what makes this table setting standout are the leafy placemats and the floral napkin rings.  They just add that perfect pop of color. I love that the wine glasses are plastic (perfect for hanging out by the pool when the weather gets warmer)The blue napkins are a must-have as they go with everything. I use these so much,  all year-round. Add tons of flowers for a centerpiece and you are ready for a spring party!

The very important bar was also dressed up with the leafy placemats for a tropical look.  Another trusty elephant garden stool helps out carrying more refreshments.  I just love that the stool is so versatile and chic.  You could even try it as a table centerpiece!  I will try that next time. Also, the red cooler is so practical and convenient.  I fill it up with ice and put everything here from waters, to sodas to wine. It is perfect for a self-service bar.

Then you bring out the rose wine and the sweets....and just like that the conversation flows for hours!  I love a good fruit tart (my favorite to make is Ina Garten's recipe here) and you know how well girls and macarons mix...so there were plenty of those as well.

We all had a wonderful evening with Pier 1's help.

This transformed, cozy outdoor space is a welcome sight for family and friends.  We are ready to keep spending time out here in this happy corner.  If you are looking to spruce up your outdoor space and be the best hostess, visit Pier 1 for fabulous products.  Please, please get the elephant table so we can be #tweensies. It is my favorite and am completely #obsessed with it.
