The new Adore Home Magazine came out recently.  If you don't know it, it is a cute Australian home and lifestyle online magazine.  They have great furniture and accessory round-ups and always feature some cool spaces.  In the latest issue they are featuring the home of Naomi Stein of Design Manifest.  I had seen it before on Design Sponge and fell in love with it all over again the second time around.
First, up, I love this pink parson's desk against that wild blue wall color.  And do you recognize the dressers to either side?  Yup! Ikea.  They are the infamous Rast Dressers (remember my DIY?).  Well, Naomi followed pretty much the same steps except she added overlays.  If you don't know about overlays, you are going to love this.  There is a company called O'verlays that sell various overlays which you can use for different Ikea pieces to dress them up (what  a fabulous idea).  I think Naomi's are adorable.
I love this reading area.  Here is another Ikea hack. Naomi added the mirror in the back to the Ikea Expedit library making it more glamorous while adding interest at the same time.  (I bet Julie loves that photo of the pug in here).
I really like how she painted this wall black framing the bar cart and contrasted it with a light pastel painting from one of my fave artists Sketch42.  You know this artist, I have blogged about her before.  And the bar cart is adorable.  Bar carts are back and with a vengeance.  They are everywhere! They are so practical!
This is my favorite nook of the house. She made it interesting by combining the wallpaper and the black and white pattern on the chairs.  I love how those wall brackets just frame it all.
If you want to see more photos of her apartment you can here and in at Adore Home Magazine here.

What do you think? Do you like it?

  1. Just finished reading it! Naomi's home is always a treat for the eyes. I also loved seeing Erika from Small Shop's dining room.
