I'm really excited about sharing with you the transformation of some old, slightly rusty, and somewhat dated metal chairs. I sanded the chairs down, cleaned them, and sprayed them with Rust-Oleum ® Universal® spray paint in black. Will you believe me if I tell you they are like new again? The finish is flawless. This spray paint was so easy to use (as in it works in any angle, even if you spray upside down) and provides such a rich and fabulous cover that I highly recommend it for any of those DIY projects you might have around the house. These are the chairs I began with (please note the fruit painting in the back support!).
[ lucite console | black box with crystal pyramids | grey and yellow bag | Pink dress | marble and turquoise side table | neon earrings | neon clutch | Blue neoprene bag | ring ]
Let's start with the lucite and neon console table, shall we? That pop of pink really makes it, don't you think? Also, that black box with the little pyramids is the perfect accessory for any table around the house. I'm loving that pretty yellow and gray bag because it is just screaming Summer, as is the colorful clutch. This pink palm leaf dress is on sale and is just so easy and chic to wear all summer. I can see it on a woman of any age because it just has that classic cut.
A hammock has such a special meaning to me. For me, laying on one almost equates to the official start of summer. We used to hang one between the trees in the woods. It was so much fun to test it and see if it was tight enough because you never knew if you were the one destined to fall flat on your bottom if it wasn't. I remember taking the best naps on earth on it. And, of course, it would also set the stage for the best of intimate conversations when two of us where in it together, laying in opposite directions so we could talk and swing at the same time. Our hammock was woven with such a beautiful design in the prettiest colors. And so now that I'm starting to come up with a plan for our porch I'm thinking I really need a hammock.
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you have some fun plans today. As promised here is the recipe for the Fruit Tart. It was easy to make and a big hit. Perfect for summer because its nice and light. The shell is delish!
I promised you the fruit tart recipe today, and I will get it to you...but I didn't find the link to it online so I have to type if out....I'm working on it! So I think I will have it to you for Monday. In the meantime since it's Memorial Day weekend and sales are everywhere I thought I could help you navigate and maybe even help you find some good deals and highlight some pretty finds. BTW- I found the two suitcases I needed on super sale at Macy's. A good suitcase can easily last 10 years even with some good mileage under its belt, so I think my investment was solid. They are not necessarily very pretty, but they are waterproof, heavyduty, and light. I didn't know I could get so excited about a good deal. What brand of suitcases are you loyal too? I myself have always had good experiences with Samsonite. Ok here are some sale finds for you-

My daughter adores to ride her bicycle. I think its the sense of freedom and independence that makes it so appealing. This coupled with the fact that the weather is exactly perfect right now, meaning no mosquitoes and perfect temperatures, means I need to buy a bike stat so I can go on adventures with her. You can imagine how thrilled I was to find such pretty bikes for $300. Plus delivery is free. What do you think? Would you risk it and buy a bike online you have never seen? Hmmmm....
I'm thrilled to announce that the winner for the Via Blossom Giveaway is Mary Karter Jenkins. We will be contacting you shortly!

I never really pay attention to the big sales that run on holidays ( My motto is "It is not a good deal if I don't need it". I don't care how big the price reduction is) but I am excited about this year's Memorial Day sales. Having just moved recently there are so many things I need that I have actually paid close attention to everything coming up. Of course, now with so many rooms to decorate and finalize things for the home are at the top of my list. And of course I was just thrilled when I found out that Lulu and Georgia is having a 25% sale with code MEMORIALDAY25 starting tomorrow thru May 26th, so start browsing today.

Happy Tuesday! Sam here, from The Peak of Tres Chic, kick-starting another "We Love" series with Albertina. We took a bit of a break at the beginning of this year while I finished planning my wedding, celebrating the big day, and honeymooning, and while Albertina moved houses and participated in the One Room Challenge. But now we are back in action my friends!
I learned about Roll and Hill, a lighting studio based in Brooklyn, this weekend and just fell in love with their pieces. If you have been reading this blog for a while you know lighting is one of my favorite things ( as evidenced here, here, here and here to name a few). I even made my own chandelier this one time and my husband made several lamps. With this lighting obsession you can imagine how excited I was to learn about Roll & Hill and how they collaborate with
current independent designers to create a unique collection of lighting pieces. Their pieces are basically made-to-order so they are able to customize each piece to meet their client's needs. They are stunning.
I'm headed up to Boston this weekend for my high school reunion! Eeek! So excited to see my good friends who I get to see often enough and curious about others I haven't seen in a while. Follow me on Instagram for the complete scoop. The weather seems like it doesn't want to cooperate with all the cute outfits I want to wear. Hmmmm. Have you been to a high school reunion recently? Anything fun and exciting occur? Do tell! please!
[ camel cocktail napkins | sandals | purple stemmed flutes | John Darian Plates | white bathing suit | furry stool ]
Just a pretty line-up of fun things for you today. Let's start off with the pretty and sassy camel cocktail napkins. I love how colorful they are. And really, can you have too many cocktail napkins? I think not! These sandals are so chic and I love how the heel is not very high making them perfect for everyday. The gold heel just adds a bit of glam. Ok, someone please grab this set of flutes for $65!! You get sic for that price. I am so tempted to get them myself. They have them in green too! I think I need a set of each to mix and match.
I'm so excited to bring you this fun giveaway. Via Blossom is not only one of my sponsors but Cristina and Maggie, the owners, are dear old friends of mine. They just re-branded and updated their website and it is so, so pretty in there I'm already dreaming of all the little things I'm going to get for Little Miss A's next birthday (just four months away! You may remember her pinata I featured on Instagram some days ago.)
Via Blossom offers such chic and unique party supplies that you can stay assured your party will be different than everyone else's, plus they have the items in every color of the rainbow so you will be sure to always find something to match your theme. I just love these cute banners, and the wooden spoons. How about these carousel table-toppers? and these paper flower blossoms for chocolates or for cake-pops to make them look like flowers? I actually used the flower cups to adorn lanterns in little Miss A's Kokeshi Doll party last summer (see it here). The options are endless. Here is how to enter-
My daughter now has a true walk-in closet with the cutest cherry wallpaper. You may remember my original plan for her closet here. One of the things that changed from the original plan is the mirror. My good friend Karen suggested that I use a Venetian mirror on top of her chest of drawers instead. And the more I think about it the more I love the idea. Venetian mirrors are richly designed and have plenty of etched details that would be perfect for a little girl. They are elegant, feminine, romantic and can really soften up a space.
I hope all you wonderful mothers had a great Mother's Day. Ours was splendid. Little Miss A made me feel like the coolest, most loved mother on the planet. She gave me drawings and letters she had been quietly collecting under her bed, in addition to an abundance of the most delicious hugs and kisses in the world. My daughter loves coming up with fun and exciting plans. I indulge her whenever I can because I feel that being able to actually experience those moments that she first concocts in her imagination will arm her with with everlasting ingenuity throughout her lifetime. On her special mother-daughter-day agenda was to bake a cake and then eat it while we soaked in an obscene amount of bubbles. Cake and bubbles with my favorite girl? Twist my arm- I obliged. We made this Miette tomboy chocolate cake.
Happy Mother's Day weekend to all of you lovely mommas! I hope you are celebrated and pampered plenty this weekend. My husband is out of town on a conference but Little Miss A has taken it upon herself to make this Mother's Day the best yet. She has a whole weekend planned for us. She has quite the agenda as it includes ( in no particular order)- dressing up as twinsies, cake with pink frosting, bubbles, cookies for breakfast topped with whipped cream (she says this type of breakfast is preferable to her learning how to use the toaster) and maybe a meeting with a beast at some point. I hope to be able to share with you some of this on Monday. I'm quite excited actually. And fingers crossed one of my best friends will be in town.
I am overwhelmed with your support and excitement over yesterday's reveal. Thank you all for your encouragement and excitement. it is contagious to say the least. I absolutely adored all of yesterday's reveals and there are even more today with Linda's Linking Party. Check it out here. I'm exhausted! The good kind of exhausted of course. I really feel like laying out by the beach or pool (or any type of body of water will do) and just rest. But I did want to share this cute peplum top (don't you love the back?) and it's on sale! Plus, who doesn't need another white shirt?
Today is One Room Challenge Reveal! Finally! Such high expectations all around- so I hope the photos don't disappoint you. I need to tell you, as a disclaimer, how difficult it was to take the photos. With the large windows and so many reflective surfaces it was a nightmare. I hope they convey the real beauty of the room.
This One Room Challenge was started by Linda from Calling it Home
some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional
bloggers to redo a room in their home in just six weeks- we update you once a week on
Wednesdays. And today is not only Wednesday but it also the BIG REVEAL. I decorated our family room. (In case you missed it here are the previous posts). Without further ado- Our Family Room.
I adore, adore necklaces. I love all kinds of styles, sizes, colors and materials, so long as they are interesting and different. I fell head over heels over the cool and effortless look of these Bandelier necklaces.

Mother's Day is around the corner! Can you believe it? This will be a bitter-sweet Mother's day for me because I won't get to spend it with my mom (but we did get to celebrate this past weekend) and my husband will be out of town in a conference. That is the bitter part, but the sweet part is I will get to spend it with one of my best friends and her family because they will be in town visiting! I am so excited to spend time with her. I have made some fun plans for us. And also, my daughter and I have been brainstorming up a fabulous mother-daughter set of activities, one of which, we will share with you soon. Maybe on Friday if we get our act together. In the meantime I hope you enjoy this round-up of gift ideas for your friend, mom, grandmother, sister...or any loved women in your lives you want to shower with gifts.
I have a few white dresses that act like my summer uniform. They are so easy to wear, they are light and cool, and I feel like I look so put-together with them that it is easy to fall into the 'white dress habit'. You can dress them up with heels for the evening or dress down with flip flops or sandals during the day. Here are some of my favorites in all kinds of price points. I can't believe nowadays you can find a perfectly covetable dress for $25!

I was so honored to be featured in one of my favorite blogs yesterday, The Short and Sweet of it. Alexa and Kirby have such fabulous style and are so sweet that I love following them along everyday. They featured my Mimosa Lane shop and asked me some interesting questions about opportunities and challenges for my small business. Come read about it here. Oh and get your Mimosa Lane pillows or pouches here.
