Faves from the One Room Challenge Reveals || Fall 2016

November 15, 2016

Finally, the Fall 2016 One Room Challenge (ORC) reveals were last week!  I had been anxiously waiting for them.  As you may know, the ORC is the brainchild of Linda from Calling it Home.  This challenge has grown and grown over the years. It is very exciting to have seen its growth and evolution to such an anticipated and important event in the world of interior design.  Now, House Beautiful is a sponsor, which is really BIG.

The challenge consists of redoing a room in just six weeks and reporting on the progress once a week.  Twenty bloggers chosen by Linda participate in the official roster of the challenge and then she also opens up the challenge to other people who may want to join in the fun (these are called 'guest participants') The reveals on week 6 are so fun to go through.  The community that Linda has created among interior designers, interior bloggers and enthusiasts is wonderful and so supportive.  I have done a total of 4 One Room Challenges- two as one of the twenty featured bloggers (my family room, and my closet) and two as a 'guest participant (my mudroom and my daughter's rooms).  From experience I can tell you that 6 weeks goes by faster than you think.  It is intense.

So, I wanted to share with you my ORC favorites from this season.  I love finding inspiration in these rooms, getting to know new-to-me designers and finding new sources.  All in all, it is a feast for the eyes.  Without further a do-

I love anything and everything Jana Bek designs (she makes the prettiest fabrics, lamps and jars!).  Her living room (above) came out beautifully and I especially loved her bar cart area. I just loved her wallpaper and photograph choice. This combination just pops.

The amazing Gwen from the Makerista managed to create a beautiful nursery/office/sunroom as well as have a baby!! I'm not quite sure how she pulled that off but it is fabulous and original and so very practical.

Nancy from Marcus Design is always a favorite. I love her style and clean aesthetic.  This bathroom was a major transformation. If you love a before and after, you need to check this one out. That tub!!!!

This bunk room bed is adorable!! Julia from Chris loves Julia designed this for her daughters and it is so sweet, practical, fun and original.  What a great space to grow-up in. The other side has some fabulous black closets with awesome wallpaper. Make sure you check-out the rest.

This dining room is by Cassie from Hi Sugarplum! I love the colors and it very much reminds me of my daughter's room.  I have a similar set-up there with a face painting with purples and then a blue and white chest below.  Take a look.  Anyway, I love the wallpaper by a local Dallas artist Ann Jackson who makes stunning wallpaper and I love the contrast of the airy ghost chairs and the bulky wooden table.

Shannon from Shannon Claire did an amazing transformation in this living and dining space.  She has some fabulous  bookshelf styling which you must check-out and she added a black marble fireplace that is simply stunning.

Megan Pflug redesigned a guest suite that you can now rent on Airbandb in Brooklyn, NY.  She used a hanging fireplace, which I had no idea even existed.  This sounds perfect for places that are not set-up for the real deal.  She also chose the same wallpaper we have in our guest bathroom, so that sealed the deal for me.

Banana Leaf sofa. Enough said! By the very talented Waiting on Martha.

And last but definitely not least the Hunted Interior.  This project also has great bookshelf styling and a great bar table DIY.  I also really loved the art.

I also need to take a look at the One Room Challenge Guest participants and share with you my favorites.  That might take a while since over 200 bloggers participated this time around.  Stay tuned.
