Finally Halloween is here! We have been counting down the days for over a month! This is what having Frozen on your brain will do to you. I feel like Halloween was not such a big deal when I was a kid, but then again I grew up in a different country. I must admit that this time around I'm also excited the day is finally here. We do have a fun evening planned filled with trick-or-treating with friends and my girlfriends and I are playing hooky in the middle of the day to watch The Best of Me. Have you seen it yet? Please tell me it's good.

Where to start with today's pretty selections! I am so in love with this lips print! So fun and colorful. If I had not just bought a few pieces for my One Room Challenge that print would be in my shopping cart as we speak. My next favorite thing are the purple flats! There is something so chic and elegant in a pointy flat. It makes your feet look so elegant and kind of regal. And these sneakers are what I'm asking my husband to get me for my birthday! So cute!
Will you believe me if I told you my closet is done!! Well it is, and I could not be more in love with it. But, since I can't show you it quite yet I will be sharing with you some accessories I used. If you are new and
don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional
bloggers to redo a room in their home in just six weeks- we update you once a week on
Wednesdays. And today is Wednesday! (in case you missed them here are this round's previous posts- one, two, three, four).
To
refresh your memory I am doing my walk-in closet. Today I will be sharing with you all some of the fun accessories (pictured above) I used to make this space the little escape I needed.
I have
quite a few baby showers coming up. I can think of four off the top of my head!!
Yikes! So, the search is on for that perfect baby gift. I am fine getting my friends something from their registry. Something that is practical and maybe even necessary. But what I really love getting them is something fun and different that they love and would not necessarily buy for themselves. Enter Tamar Mogendorff's whimsical fabric creature creations. These delicate little creatures are hand-made in Brooklyn, NY. I first spotted these beauties at a local store here in Dallas called Cabana (one of my mom's and my's most favorite spots to find chic easy pieces on trend). Then, on a trip to NYC's ABC home and carpet I saw more of these creations. I was hooked, but never really remembered the artist's name. It took a while and some investigating, but finally I found Tamar Mogendorff's online shop with the prettiest little treasures for a baby's room, or for yourself. I mean, they are that cute!
Since I'm kind of obsessed with everything fringe lately I fell in love with this fringe skirt image above. It just so happens to be a highly coveted fringe skirt by Tamara Mellon whose beach house I have been admiring for the last few weeks since I spotted it in Elle Decor. Her home is beautiful and so are her fashion designs. You may remember her as the 27 year-old who partnered with Jimmy Choo some years ago. She has since founded her own fashion line and her designs are spectacular. Let's take a little peek at both her interior design style and her fashion line-
Halloween is right around the corner. I had not really realized it until today when I drove down an area I don't usually frequent and the amount of Halloween inflatables decorating the front yards was incredible. I'm talking about 3 or 4 per yard! Little Miss A is just so excited. Her sweet aunt gave her the Elsa (from Frozen) costume and boy is she excited. This is a very coveted costume among this age group so we are lucky to have one! Are you all ready for Halloween? A few fun links to leave you with-

Just a few simple yet beautiful luxuries for you today. Nothing over the top, well maybe one thing- the fabulous shrug! I'm short on words today so here is everything-
The gold trim is up and so are the shades (if you follow me on Instagram the shades are gray not green! I think the color came across wrong in that photo). Anyway, my closet is looking fabulous! To
refresh your memory I am doing my walk-in closet that has lilac walls. Today I will be sharing with you all the wonderful works of art I will proudly display here. I'm so excited about every single piece. Let's start with this beautiful nude by Reagan Geschardt. Isn't she perfect? I can't wait to meet her. She arrives tomorrow!
My good friend Nicole from Sketch42 has been my blog hero (evidenced here and a few other posts!) ever since I first started reading blogs. I became obsessed with her art and today own three of her pieces which I just adore. She has one of the most unique voices in blogland and her creativity is one of the qualities I most admire in her. She works so hard in her art of creating and is constantly evolving. Her latest project is brilliant. She has published a book of her summer photography series #absurdist summer focused on random things, color and shape. But let me tell you what is really brilliant about this book-
We are all obsessed with olive oil around here. It must be because my husband is from the Mediterranean and grew up playing in the family's olive groves. They are all so well versed and passionate about anything olive oil. We take our olive oil very seriously around here. We cook everything with it (you may remember this family recipe for an olive oil and yogurt cake or this olive oil lemon meyer cake we make often as well). Plus, olive oil's health benefits are no secret. Everyone is my husband's family lives till 98 at least! So, this time around when I saw a recipe for chocolate, chocolate chip olive oil cookies I just had to try it. The cookies are AMAZING! Very rich and decadent with a fudgy-brownie consistency. I highly, recommend this recipe. Plus, they might add years to your life, so why not give them a try? They might become your delicious secret weapon to keeping young.

Dallas feels like heaven right now. The temperatures are a bit chilly in the mornings and just right in the middle of the day. Fall is in the air, pumpkins are everywhere and blazer season is here. I could not be happier. I hope you are all enjoying fall wherever you are as well. I have a few finds for you today-

Shopbop has a fabulous sale going on where everything (well, most everything) is 25% off with code FAMILY25. But hurry because it is only through the end of today. Here are a few of my favorites-
Lilac it is my friends!! And boy am I loving it! If you are new and don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional

To refresh your memory I am doing my walk-in closet. At first, my plan included pink walls, then I wanted gray and finally decided on lilac. LOVE, LOVE, ADORE....But it was hard to chose the perfect lilac...
I'm so excited to share with you the launch of a new online lifestyle quarterly magazine called Rose and Ivy. It is filled with amazing recipes (like the crepe and blueberry cake pictured above. Doesn't it make you almost want to lick the screen?), fashion editorials, shoppable trends, articles on beauty, and interiors. Rose and Ivy is the brainchild of Alison who was one of my first blog friends. I'm just so proud of her as this project really blends all her loves and talents into this work of art that is Rose and Ivy. This is an impressive labor of love. Her photography and styling are absolutely breathtaking throughout. Come read this first volume that is inspired by still lives- it will elevate your soul.
Baking is such a normal part of life around here that I usually forget to blog about it because it's just what we do. If we want sweets, we make them. And most of the time things are eaten and enjoyed before they have even cooled from the oven. This definitely means there is no time for food styling or photograph taking. A good friend of mine came to lunch the other day and for dessert I offered her one of these cookies. She pointed out that she had not seen them on the blog and that she wanted the recipe. So here it is for you all enjoy.
What a beautiful bag!! It is Celine and only available in stores. But I thought you all should know that it exists. Amazing, right? So, it's Friday....we have a wedding this weekend of family members we don't know. ha! We know many family members at the wedding, but not the bride and groom. Is that weird? Nonetheless I'm ready to celebrate, dance and drink a little. Just a few links-
|| Just add a glass to these and you have the coolest coffee table in your block.

I would love to own these red suede fringe shoes! Oh my! So fun, daring and sexy. Of course, one could only wear them on a very sunny and clean day, otherwise I don't even want to picture the fringe! Hmmm..... This table in that color is a must. Someone, please!
I felt like last week went by quicker than usual....hmmm. I want to give you all an update on my closet which is what I'm working on for this One Room Challenge. If you are new and don't know what the One Room Challenge is it was started by Linda from Calling it Home
some years ago. In this challenge she lines up twenty talented interior designers and professional

Wednesdays. And today is Wednesday! (in case you missed it here is last week's post
where I introduce my plans and some design inspiration.
At first, I wanted my closet to be pink. I love Quadrille's fabrics and so went there directly to see what inspired me. I pulled several beautiful fabrics in pink tones but this Malmaison one seemed exactly right. It has a little pink, a little leopard and it is romantic and feminine- ideal for a walk-in closet. I immediately thought I could splurge on some Farrow and Ball paint. Their colors just have those deep pigments and they have the perfect pink to boot. But when I went to place the fabric order they told me it would take 6 weeks to get it. Six weeks??!! This is the One Room Challenge! I don't have time for 6 weeks! There was nothing I could do, so I asked about the other pretty pink Quadrille fabrics I had pulled. ALL were made-to-order and thus took 6 weeks as well. I even tried finding about Amanda Nisbet's Positano...and of course it is also made-to-order. Oops....I needed to forget about fancy fabric and find something that was available so I went back to the drawing board.
Having a good bar is key. I have often blogged about exciting bar accessories and how to style your bar cart, so when I came across Kelly Wearstler's bar collection I knew I had to share with you right away. Her accessories are whimsical and elegant. This line is an extension of her aesthetic using her signature materials, black and white marble, bronze, and gemstones. Hands and lips continue to take center stage. Uhm, YES to those beautiful striped cake plates and to that green marble counter.
I wanted to introduce you to Damien Langlois-Meurinne, a french designer. His spaces are meticulous and simple and invoke a certain feeling of purity. His kitchens are particularly spectacular as he designs them to be sophisticated and very 'unlike' a kitchen (they look more like dining rooms) maintaining the soul of the home intact. The materials and color palette he uses are soothing, and his lighting choices are exactly what my dreams are made of. I was not surprised to learn that he began his career with Christian Liaigre, one of my favorite designers ( I blogged about how his work inspired my bedroom design here). Take a further look at Damien's work, your soul will thank you-
I could not resist showing you this beautiful waterfall marble island. I'm obsessed. So, we have no electricity and the Ebola virus is just down the street from us....I'm a little worried. Don't even ask me how I was able to post this for you. And this marbleized bathroom
I fell in love with that photograph there you see of the sparkly eyelid. It is by Marylin Minter and you bet I will be calling today to find out it's price. The contact information is to a gallery so it seems like it will be expensive. But there is no worse errand than the one you don't run, right? I will keep you posted. The other photographs around the home are equally as amazing. This home belongs to Sandra Benhamou, an interior designer.
I'm so excited because today marks the first day of October and of the Fall One Room Challenge. The One Room Challenge was started by Linda from Calling it Home
some years ago where she lines up twenty very talented professional
bloggers and designers to redo a room in just six weeks.
We will update you every Wednesday for the next six weeks on our progress. This is my second time participating (you can see my first One Room Challenge here) and I'm just
thrilled and honored to be among such talented ladies. So let me tell
you about the room I chose to design-
